Brandi has had 35 shunt operations since 2006 because of her "psuedo tumorcerebri", that is an illness where the body produces too much spinalfluid and causes her brain to swell. Because of this illness she hasbecome blind in her right eye and has partial vision in her left eye. She also had 4 eye fenestration surgeries on her eyes to try to bringsome of her sight back. It did not help her right eye. She is stillblind in that eye. Because she has had so many shunt operations theycan't give her anymore. She now has to rely on spinal taps (she hasalready had 200 of them). She has a pituitary tumor which causes so many problems with her body. She also has hypothyroidism, addisons disease and polycystic ovaries (5 to 8 cycst on each ovary). She now has pneumonia and a bad ear infection. Brandi's mother was diagnosed with emphasema last year and it's getting worse. Since she lost her job in January 09 she's been having a hard time. The company messed up her insurance bynot paying the premiums after taking the payments out of her paychecks. When they finally cleared it all up she only had one week left inFebruary. they never offered her COBRA at the new federal law where youpay 35%. They told her to pay for her medication out of pocket and theywould reimburse her. That never happened it was almost $200 she had topay. Since she lost her job and insurance she have been unable to see adoctor concerning her illness. She relies on charity organizations tohelp. They only cover the basics not the real problem. Due to therecession most organizations have run out of money.She hasn't been able to catch up on her mortgage because her car needsrepairs, first a fuel pump and now a new axle and transmission work and she also has to pay for her medication that Medicaid won't pay for. Shewas a victim of check fraudand her checking account was compomised.She worries about her daughter so much thatthe stress has caused her to lose a lot of weight. She takes medicationfor high blood pressure, acid reflux, high cholesteroland anxiety. She has a lot of panic attacks because she can't seem to getahead. Her mortgage is 3 months behind ($1155) and she must catch upbefore October 2009or risk losing her home, she has one more payment left on her car ($386)which she can't pay. She has a high electric bill and she is 1 month behindon that, almost $400 because with all the medication her daughter takes her bodyneeds cold air. She only receives $211 a week from unemployment which will end in about 3weeks.She can't even afford to pay for eyeglasses for herself. She hadlaser surgery on her right eye about 3 years ago and she still hasproblems with her vision. They have cut down on a lot of things to saveon their expenses but it's not getting better. Please help so they could keep their home. I have known Janette and Brandi for almost 5 years now.They have been in and out of the hospital because of Brandi's illness.They are two wonderful people going through rough times. Right now they need about 2000$ to get out of dept and keep their house.Any extra help will be greatly appreciated!
